IN RESPONSE   TO  CONCURRENT   RESOLUTION  OF  CONGRESS,  A
  LETTER  FROM  THE  ACTING  CHIEF  OF ENGINEERS,   UNITED
  STATES ARMY,  TOGETHER  WITH  COPY OF A  REPORT OF  CAPT.
  CHARLES  KELLER,  CORPS  OF  ENGINEERS,  CONTAINING   AN
  ESTIMATE  OF THE COST OF COMPLETING  LOCK AND  DAM  NO. 1,
  AT BRENNECKES   SHOALS, OSAGE  RIVER, MISSOURI.


  JANUARY 24, 1901.-Referred to the Committee on Commerce and ordered to be
                           printed.



                                     WAR  DEPARTMENT,
                               Washington, January 03, 1901.
  SIR: In response to concurrent resolution No. 94, dated January 21
instant, directing the Secretary of War to transmit to the Senate an
additional estimate of the amount necessary to be appropriated for
the completion of the work upon the lock and dam at Brenneckes
Shoals, on the Osage River, in the State of Missouri, I have the honor
to transmit herewith a letter of this date from the Acting Chief of
Engineers, United States Army, together with copy of report of Capt.
Charles Keller, Corps of Engineers, on the above subject, dated
November 9 last.
