                           TRANSMITTING

A COPY  OF A COMMUNICATION FROM THE CHIEF OF THE SUPPLY
  DIVISION  GIVING   THE  PROCEEDS   OF  THE  SALE   OF USELESS
  PAPERS.

                              printed.


                                         WAR  DEPARTMENT,
                                  Washington, December 15, 1903.
   SIR: In compliance with a requirement contained in the act of Con-
 gress entitled An act to authorize and provide for the disposition of
 useless papers in the Executive Departments, approved February 16,
 1889, I have the honor to transmit herewith copy of a report of the
 chief of the supply division, this Department, stating that the proceeds
 derived from the sale of useless papers, since last report, amounted to
 $838.07; that the cost of advertising amounted to $16.92, and the cost
 of labor $87.75, leaving net proceeds, $733.40, which amount has been
 turned into the Treasury of the United States.

 approved February 16, 1889, volume 25, page 672, Statutes at Large, relating to the
 (disp)osition of useless papers, that the proceeds derived from the sale of useless
 papers of this Department amounted to $838.07; the cost of advertising amounted to
 $10.92, and the cost of labor amounted to $87.75, and that the net proceeds of the
 sale, amounting to $733.40, have been turned into the Treasury of the United States.
