LAND   CONVEYANCE TO THE BELL COUNTY, KY., BOARD
                      OF  EDUCATION

 Mr. HUDDLESTON, from the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and
                Forestry, submitted the following

   The Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry, to which
 was referred the bill (S .41) to authorize the Secretary of Agricul-
 ture to convey any interest held by the United States ni certain lands
 located in Bell County, Ky., to the board of education, Bell County,
 Ky., having considered the same, reports favorably thereon with
 amendments  and an amendment to the title, and recommends that the
 bill as amended do pass.
                       SHORT EXPLANATION
   S. 41 directs the Secretary of Agriculture to convey, without con-
 sideration, to the Bell County (Ky.) Board of Education a reversion-
 ary interest held by the United States in a 47-acre plot of land that was
 transferred to the Commonwealth of Kentucky by the Secretary of
 Agriculture in 1954. The bill also provides that if the, land is ever sold,
 lesed, or otherwise disposed of by Kentucky authorities, the proceeds
 from  the transaction must be used exclusively for educational pur-
 poses by the Bell County Board of Education.
                     COMMITTEE  AMENDMENTS
    The committee amendments to the bill and the title of the bill are
  technical in nature, making clarifying and other clerical changes.
