References, in chronological order, to the several ordinances
and public acts of the Provincial Government of the Massachu-
setts Bay, and to the several acts of the Legislature of the State
of Massachusetts, relating to the Ferry between Boston and
Charlestown, in particular, and to other ferries and bridges over
the same river or arn or the sea; and also containing general
regulations common to them and other ferries.
[NOTE. Many of these acts or ordinances of the old Provin-
cial Government are understood to have been omitted in all the
lrinted editions, now extant, of the provincial laws, but are found
in the original records or the colony, now among the public ar-
chives of the State ; and official copies of them, extracted froa
those records, and duly certified, are filed among the exhibits and

,' IT is further ordered, that whosoever shall first give in his
name to Mr. GoA'nr. that bee will undertake to sett upp a Fer-
ry betwixt Boston and Charlton, and shall begin the same at
such tyme as Mr. Gov'nr shall appoynt; shall have id. for
every  .son, and id. for every 100 weight of goods lice shall
