Dward Fitz, Harris (as his own Narrative, or rather Examina,
tion 'taken by the Right Honourable the Secretary of State)
was Born in Ireland., being Son to Sir Edward Fitz, Harris, and
there bred up in the Popifh Superfitions and.Idolatrous Tenents,
from whence, '.s fromn the Founltain of all Mifchief, he fucked in his
wicked Principles, which turned him even into a Monfler in nature,
and Atreus like, to feed upon the Bowels of his own Country, and
de. ro'thofe whofe Charity and Bounteous Ircliration, had faved
him from Perifning. For having efpoufed the Catholick Caufe,
he was refolved to fhew himfelf a Spavin 0f thofe mifchievous
Spirits, the Blbod-thirfty Jefuis; fo that undertaking to brirgthat
Monfler into the world, which-Moter Ce/lier, with a-l hcr dexte-
rity in Midwifry could not do, whereupon he, by tile advice (as he
himfelf confefled) of the Frencb Ambafladors Confeffor, frames
or draws up feveral Treafonable heads, and by puttir.g them into a
Libel, and difperfiTg the Copies, hoped to raife the w4iole Nation
to bear Rebellious Armes againft his Prirce ; but his contrivance
being laid too fhalloWv, it was revealad by Mr. Everard, the perfon
to whom he applied himfelf for the-compaCting it the betteir under
the fhelter of his Namir to carry on the defign - but his Treafonable.
