Defendants, The University of Chicago et al., for their
Answer to the Complaint, state as follows:
JURISDICTION
Paragraph 1 reads as follows:
1. The jurisdiction of this Court is invoked pursuant
to the provisions of Title 28, United States Code, sections 1343(3),
1343(4), 2201 and 2202, this being a civil action authorized by
the Civil Rights Act of 1871, Title 42, United States Code, sec-
tion 1983 to redress and remedy the deprivation under color of
State statute, ordinance, regulation, custom or usage of rights,
privileges and immunities secured by the Constitution and laws
cf the United States, by the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title 42,
United States Code, sections 2000c-6 and 2000c-B, as amended by
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, P.L. 92-318, section
901 et seq., to redress and remedy the denial of admission to an
education program or activity receiving Federal financial assis-
tance on the basis of sex.
1. Defendants admit that plaintiff purports to bring
this action under 28 U.S.C. §9 1343(3), 1343(4), 2201 and 2202
and 42 U.S.C. §1983 but deny that this court has jurisdiction
under any of these sections and that defendants have violated any
of these sections. Further answering, defendants admit that
