City and County qf Philadelphia, ss:
The Grand Inquest of the Commonwealth of Pennsyl-
vania inquiring for the City and County of Philadelphia,
upon their respective oaths and affirmations do present:
That at the time of the commission of the several grievan-
ces hereinafter mentioned, and for a long time before,
Petroleum was a merchantable commodity and an article
of great commercial value, and was useful and necessary
for. the comfort and convenience of the good citizens of
this Commonwealth, and that THEODORE E. TACK, AUGUS-
TUS I . TACK, FRANK TACK, EMIL SCHALK and JOHN GRIER-
SON, with divers other persons to this Grand Inquest as
yet unknown, were at the time hereinafter mentioned,
merchants and dealers and brokers of and in the said
article called Petroleum, 9nd well knew its use and value
to the good citizens aforesaid, and that the said Theodore
E. Tack. Augustus H. Tack, Frank Tack, Emil Schalk
and John Grierson, and the other persons to the Grand
