The Answer of Augustus H. and Theodore E. Tack, trading as
Tack Bros. to the Complainant's Bill.
I. The Complainant is a speculator in Oil, but is not a regular
dealer therein, having neither store-house, refinery nor stocks of Oil
as merchandise.
I. The Defendants named in said Bill are all as these Defendants
believe, either Brokers or dealers in Petroleum, for home consumption
as well as export trade.
III. These Defendants deny that they were specially employed by
Complainant as his confidential agents in the Petroleum trade, or that
as such they received from him large commissions. Their only rela-
tions with him like with any other of their customers were as Com-
mission Merchants, and it is utterly false that they held any confiden-
tial relation towards him, or that they were employed by him, or con-
