The Schuylkill Bank.
Jtrly 29, L843. Met, No. 88 South Fourth Str.   Present, F.
W. Hubbell and Robert Hare, Jr. Esq.; and, after several sugges-.
tions as to the mode of proceeding in this examination, adjourned
until an inspection of the books could be made by Mr. Hubbell's
accountant, to whom Mr. Hare agreed that free access to the said
books should be afforded.
September 27, 1843. Met at No. 88 South Fourth Street, agree-
ably to notice. Present, Messrs. Gerhard, Hare, H. J. Williams,
J. Price Wetherill, and Mr. M'Knight, President of the Bank of
Kentucky.
Mr. Gerhard, for Kentucky Bank, gives in evidence the following
books and papers produced by the Schuylkill Bank in evidence be-
fore the Examiner, at the request of the Kentucky Bank, in compli-
ance with the order of the court for the production of books and
papers. [See Certificate July 19, 1843, as per Schedule (A.) TD.
annexed.]
Mr. R. Hare, Jr. for Schuylkill Bank, admits the correctness of
the Schedule (A.) TD. and it is understood that these books and pa-
pers, therein enumerated, are held subject to the order of the Exami-
ner and of the court.
Dec. 18, 1843. On the application of the counsel of the Bank
of Kentucky, the Examiner makes an order on the Schuylkill Bank
to permit the accountants of complainants to examine the books, &c.
therein mentioned.
April 1st, 1844. Present, F. W. Hubbell, B. Gerhard, H. J.
Williams.
Charles Thomas, sworn. I have been a clerk in the Bank of
the United States since 1832, and still continue in the banking house
in the employment of the trustees; I was also an officer of that hank
when the books and papers were deposited by the order of the court
in the case of the Kentucky Bank vs. the Schuylkill Bank; this pa-
per, now produced, is the Schedule (marked F.) of those books and
papers, and was deposited with those books and papers in the Bank
of the United States; I have not examined or compared this list with
these books and papers; these books and papers have remained at
the Bank of the United States, to the best of my knowledge, in the
