JOHN FRITZ, being duly sworn according to law, testifies as fol-
lows:
Examination by Mr. Miles.
Q. Where do you live?
A. No. 118 Ellen street.
Q. In the Fourth division of the Sixteenth ward?
A. Yes, sir.
Q. How long have you lived there?
A. I lived there seven months and a half, just exactly, before the
election.
Q. Did you vote in that division last November?
A. Yes, sir.
Q. Did you vote for anyone for the office of State Senator?
A. Yes, sir.
Q. Were you upon the assessor's list?
A. No, sir.
Q. Were you vouched for by anyone when you went to vote?
A. No, sir.

Q. Did you go and see the assessor and try to get your name upon
the list ?
A. Yes, sir; but I was too late. I went to see Mr. Graham, and he
was told in my division that I had lived in that house so long, but I
was working from early in the morning until late at night-I never
looked at the list.
Q. But you went to see about it?
A. I went and wanted to buy a tax receipt but they would not give
me none because I was not on the list.

Q. For whom did you vote for State Senator?
A. For Mr. Devlin.
