Of this work it can be said, as it cannot be said of every novel, that the interest is not allowed to flag, but continues to increase until the reader is com- pletely borne away by the excitement of the plot and the noble language in which it is illustrated. Upon arriving at the conclusion, while he must regret that there is an end to so rich a treat, yet he cannot help saying that not another line is needed to render it complete. Its style is good, perspicuous, and varied-many of its descriptions and pictures are very graphic ; the college scenes of the early chapters are true to the life, and all the various characters who figure in the after-plot, are well-sustained.'--Educatioval Herald.
