MOAK, for Weed, Parsons & Co. By request of the committee and at its invitation, Judge SAMUEL HAND and SIMON W. ROSENDALE were present at the hearing, but made no formal appearance. Mr. CoMsTocx -Are there any suggestions to be made as to the method of procedure in this investigation? Mr. MCMILLAN- I suggest that we proceed in the ordinary manner for the purpose of ascertaining the facts, and that the ex- amination be conducted by the Chairmen of the two committees respectively, and that any suggestions that the counsel upon either side have to make may be made through the Chair; and if any senator or assemblyman desires to ask any question that he may be so allowed. Mr. PIERCE - I have not advised with the gentlemen who repre- sent our side of the case but I would suggest to the Chairman and to the committee that as counsel are here representing both sides, why not let the respective counsel conduct the examination ?
