ACTS PASSED IN JUNE SESSION 1782 - - AT WINDSOR
AN ACT FOR THE ALTERATION OF THE NAME OF THE
TOWNSHIP OF HERTFORD
JUNE 15TH 1782
Whereas the Town of Hertford lies contiguous to the Township
of Hartford, which makes it difficult for strangers to distinguish which
of said Towns may be meant when either is spoke of; and many other
Inconveniences do attend the having two towns so near of one name,
in one State: Which to remove,
Be it enacted, and it is hereby enacted, by the Representatives of
the freemen of the State of Vermont, in General Assembly met, and by
the Authority of the same, that the Township of Land and incorporate
Body heretofore known by the name of Hertford shall be hereafter
called and known by the Name of Hartland.
AN ACT OF PARDONING JOHN ARMES
JUNE 15TH 1782
Whereas John Arms of Brattleborough in Windham County, be-
ing then about fifteen Years of Age, did in the Year 1775 join the
Enemies of this and the other American States: And the said John
having since voluntarily returned, and by his humble Petition prayed a
Pardon for his said Offence. Therefore,
Be it enacted, and it is hereby enacted, by the Representatives of
the freemen of the State of Vermont, in General Assembly met, and
by the Authority of the same, that the said John Arms shall be and is
hereby fully and freely pardoned for the said Offence, and restored to
all the Priviledges of other Subjects of this State upon taking the Oath
of Allegiance to this State, before any Justice of the Peace within the
same.
AN ACT TO IMPOWER AND ORDER EBENEZER CURTIS COMMISSIONER
OF SALES OF CONFISCATED LANDS TO GIVE AND EXECUTE TO
JONATHAN FARNSWORTH A DEED OF SALE OF A CERTAIN
TRACT OF LAND THEREIN DESCRIBED
JUNE 19TH 1782
