1779.
An Act regulating the Choice of Field Officers.

Eit Enacted, ayd it is hereby Enacted by the Reprefentatives of the Free cral or Brig-
,men of the Blate of Vermont in General Assenbly met, and by the Au- to eIct Or-
thority of the fame, That whenever any Regiment fhall be deftitute of ers for to
a Field Officer or Officers, the Captain-General, or in his abfcnce, the :ho'e Field-
Brigadier General, fhall'iffue his Orders to the firft Officer in command  t b
in faid Regiment, to order. the refpective Companies in the faid Regi- cnried 'to a
ment, to meet at the places where fuch Companies ufually meet in their pleppoin-
refpective Towns, and give in their Votes for fuch F'ield Officer or tI bv tieS
Officers as they may be directed to as aforesaid.; which Votes fhall be n11t10  or-
carried by the commanding Officer of each Company, or fome Perfon i iti dcoui-

Brigadier-General, fo, that Orders may be iffued for another Choice as
aforesaid.
An Act directing and regulating the Choice of Judges of
the Superior Court.

regulating the Choice of Judges of the Superior Court; in confoquence of Preamble.
