THE SIXTH MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF ST. THOMAS AND ST. JOHN
1947--1948
ORDINANCE
Authorizing the Governor of the Virgin Islands to Transfer to the Homestead
Commission Approximately 57.32 acres of Estates Calabash Boom and Lam-
pricht de Koning, St. John, Virgin Islands, to be Parcelled Out
Ard Sold as Homestead Plots.
Be it enacted by the Municipal Council of St. Thomas and St. John in session assembled:
Section 1. The Governor of the Virgin Islands is hereby authorized to transfer to
the Homestead Commission to be parcelled out and sold as homestead plots Estates Cala-
bash Boom and Lampricht de Koning, St. John, Virgin Islands, the portions thereof con-
forming to the following descriptions excepted:
(a). (Reference: Survey dated October 8, 1945, P. W. Drawing No. A3-
65-T45.) Beginning at a concrete bound post located on the east side of the Pub-
lic Road at the southeast corner of Estates Calabash Boom and Lampricht de
Koning, the line runs: South 72 degrees 08 minutes. West a distance of 914.0
feet more or less, to a concrete bound post; thence turning North 16 degrees 14
minutes East along Estates Calabash Boom and Larnpricht de Koning a distance
of 660.0 feet, more or less, to a concrete bound post; thence turning North 60
degrees 56 minutes East along Estates Calabash Boom and Lampricht de Kon-
ing a distance of 388.0 feet, more or less, to a concrete bound post; thence turn-
ing South 32 degrees 51 minutes East a distance of 615.0 feet, more or less, to
the concrete bound post at the point of beginning. The area is approximately
8.64 acres. All distances are in U. S. feet and all bearings are magnetic as of
October, 1945.
(b). (Reference: Survey dated October 8, 1945, P. W. Drawing No. A3-
63-T45.) Beginning at a concrete bound post located on the shore line at the
northeast corner of Estates Calabash Boom and Lampricht de Koning, the line
runs: Along the shore line in a general southeasterly direction a distance of
911.0 feet, more or less, to a concrete bound post; thence turning South 80 de-
grees 52 minutes; West a distance of 50.4 feet, more or less, to a concrete bound
post at the Public Road, thence turning along the Public Road in a general
northwesterly direction a distance of 807.0 feet, more or less, to the northern
boundary of Estates Calabash Boom and Lampricht de Koning; thence turning
North 74 degrees 41 minutes along the boundary a distance of 19.0 feet, more
or less, to the concrete bound post at the point of beginning. The area is ap-
proximately 1.26 acres. All distances are in U. S. feet and all bearings are
magnetic as of October, 1945.
Section 2. The Homestead Commission is hereby authorized to set a reasorable
price per parcel at which the portion of the estate hereby placed under its jurisdiction
shall be sold.
Thus passed by the Municipal Council of St. Thomas and St. John on Friday, January
24, 1947, at a continuation of its Extraordinary Meeting of January 9, 1947.
