the town of Richmond, on Monday               the 7th day of May, in the Year
of our Lord       1781,    and   from    thence continued by adjournment to
the town of Staunton, in the county of Augufla.

I. W       T IEREAS upon the pun&ua1 adminftration of juffice, criminal as well as civil, the pubfic

a(lvicc f the Council of State, by a proclamalion, buaring date one mouth at leaft before the firft day
of meeting, and diijcried throughout the feveral counties (that of I/dinoi excepted) to caufe the Court
of Appeals. the High Court of Chancery, and the General Court, to meet at any convenient place within
the coimmonwealth, there to hold their refpedive feflions immediately fucceeding each proclamation -if
it hall fi happe'n that the caulle of adjournment fhall occur within the fpace of a month next preceding
the day of neting, it fhall be lawful for the Governor, with the advice of the Council of State, by a
proclamations diferf, d aj aforeflaid, to poiApone the time of meeting beyond'the day, taking care that
