Preambc.       HEREAS the inhabitants on the weft fide of 'Saluda river in the diffria of 96, have
VV    by their petition prayed that a public road be laid out from. Captainw George
Reed's mill on Long Cane creek to 96 court-houfe, and from 96 court-houfe to John Cal-
Enacted.  houn's mill *at Coroneka, Be-it therefore enaled That a public road he aid out from 96 court
cA pblieoad  houlfe to the mill of Captain George <Reed on Long Cane creek, and from thence to Pratt's
b    mill on the north weft foik of Long Cane, and that all male'inhabitants between the ags of
Who to work  16 and 6o years from the Cherokee old road to-the fouth weft, and within 4 miles of the road
thereon,     to the fouth above 96 fhall be liable to make and keep in repair the faid road from 96 to
Reed' mill; and fball not be liable to work on any other roadwhatever. And that all male
inhabitants from the age of 16 to 6o years within 4 miles of the north and ti'mile on the
fouth fides of the road from Reed's to Pratts be liable to work, pake and keep in rbpair the
faid road, and (hall not be liable to work on any other road whatever.

read eilablithed. John Calhoun's mill on Coroneka. And from thence to Samuel Norwood's mill on Saluda
river. And that all male inhabitants from tlhe age of i,6 to 6o years between Saluda river
and the Cherokee old road above 96 thall be liable to make and keep in repair the faid road
and thall not be liable to work on any other road whatever.

1, W . HEREAS Barnard Elliott, Efquire, hath by his petition to the General Affembly
Preamble.           reprefented, thathe at a confiderable ex pence ereaed a faw mill. on Tulifiny creek,
at the head of Port Royal, Broad River, but that the navigation of the faid creek is obflruted
by many trees, which have fallen therein, whereby he is prevented from bringing to market
the lumber which has been fawed at his faid mill, unlefs he fhould be permitted to clear the
faid creek, which he is ready and willing to do at his own expence; And whereas the open-
