AN ACT for regulation of mills.         Paffed Dec.
pE it enac7ed by the Senate and Houfe of Reprecnta- 9, 797.
tives in General Court convened, That the owner
of any grift-mill in this State fhall be entitled to one
fixteenth part of any kind of corn or grain, which Toll to be
fhall be ground in his or her mill ; and one fixty- takenbymil-
fourth part for bolting, as a <ompenfation therefor lers.
and no more; and if any owner of fuch grift-mill, or
other perfon employed therein, fhall take more than
one fixteenth part of any corn or grain for grinding,
or more than one fixty-fourth part for bolting, as a
compenfation therefor ; he or they fhall forfeit and
pay for every quart of corn, grain, meal or flour fo
illegally taken, the fum of fifty cents, and fo in pro-
portion for a lefs or greater qiiantity; faid forfeiture
to be recovered by adfion of debt to the ufe of the
owner of fuch corn, grain, meal or flour before any
court proper to try the fame.
