AN ACT
To extend a Refolve of the General Court paffed the Parea vFr.
tenth  Day   of November, Anno        Domini 1779, 27b, I..
prohibting the fale of Lands belonging to Pei fons who
have abfented themfelves from this and any other
of the United States, and gone over to our Enemies,
for Taxes, to Lands belonging to the Subjets of
Great Britain, and for preventing the fale of all uch
Lands for Proprietary Taxes.

reaing them nor to make fale of any Lands belonging to Perfons Press e.
who have abfented them/elves from thi -or any other of the United
States and gone over to our Enemies, and that the Se/erlmen of the
feveral Towns and Places in this State, be direred yearly to
make a Return, to the General Court or Committee of Safety of
this State, of all the Lands belonging to fucb Perjons in their re-
[pe&ive Towns and Places and the taxes on tbei refpeRivelywhich
taxes appearing reafonable tofaid Court or Com miee, /ball be al-
lowed as fo much paid on account of the Place where fuch Lands
lie, and atn Or der drawa w.s the T oupery accordingly.
Which faid Refolve not extending to the Lands of the Subjeffs
of Great Britain, many of them have been folct to pay (uch taxes :

whenever the Proprietors of any Townfhip or tradt of Land to be paid
within this State fhall be affeffed for defraying proprietary char- o' of the
