H E R E A S great Defolations and Ruins have fundry times
happened, by Fiie breaking out in the Town of Boflon,
principally occalioned by reafon of the Joining and Nearmefs
of the Buildings, being moflly of Timber, and covered with
Shingle : For the better preventing of fuch Accidents for the
fitture, and Damage and Lofs thereby, Be it Ordained and
Euaded by the Governor, Council, and Re prefentatives,
convened in General Court or Alfembly ; and it is Enaaed by the Authority
of the fime, That henceforth no Dwelling-houe, Shop, Ware-houfe, Barn, IntuiiJnp in
Stable, or any other Houfing, of more than Eight Feet in Length, or Breadth, II'fln 1 lIYo
