mical to the Independence and Liberties of the
Uiited States, within this Stte, and for Payment
of their Debts, and direding Proceedings therein.
o     H E R E A S it is eartfly reconuended, by congress, to the
feveral States, as foon as may be to confifcafe and make Jale of all
.the real and perlonal Eflates therein, of their Inhabitants, and other Pei.
Joss who have forfeited the fame, and the Right.to the Protetion Of their
refpeflive States ; and to inftel the Money arjin1g from the Sales thereof,
in Continental Loan- Office Certificates, to be appropHated in ftch ilanner
as tbq refpetlive States ]hall hereafter direo f.  14nd on cojAderation of the
yuflice and Reafonablenefs offdid Reconmetdation, it is judged fit and
expedient that it Ihoild be ena fed:     And,

E it therefore enafled, by the Goi'ernor, Council, and Reprefest.
L atives in General Court afembed, and by the duthorit, of the
fame, That all Eftate. real and perfonal, lying and being
within this State, which belong to any Perfon or Perfons
whatever, who have heretofore voluntarily gone 6ver to;join.
ed with, and fcreened themfelves under the Proteffion of the Enemies
of the United States of Anmericii, or have aided and afifted them in their
hoftile Meafures againft faid States, and hav'e toltinLed fo to do,
until the paffing of this Aftj or who flall hereafter, voluntarily go
over to, join with, and fcreen thernfeves undet the ProtedLion of; or
(halt aid, abeti and aflif: faid Enemies, in their Meafureg as aforefaid,
fhall be forfeited to, and. for tie Ufe of this State , be proceeded
with, confifcated, held and improved as ih this A& is hereafter
dire&ed. And it fhall be the, Duty of the Sele&t-nien of the fevery.
Towns in this State, to give Information, as fooif as may be; to rhe
next Affifant or Juftiee of the Peace, of all fuch Perfons, of, or
