Proviso     provided, however, that this act shall not be so construed as to pro-
vent the circulatio of all'such notes as may have been issued.by
such county, city or town previous to the passage of this act, and not
redeeme&; but when once redemed, the sald- note, scrip or certifi-
cate shall not again be put in circulation: and provided further, that
this act shall not be so construed as to prevent the several counties,
cities and towns of this commonwealth, from issuing an, bond or
bonds, under and by virtue of the laws authorizing such issues,*and
now in force.
Commencement 2. This act shall be it force from its passage.
CIIAP. 5.-An ACT mtaking an Appropriation to pay certain Expenses of
Government.
Passed September 26, 180.
Appropriation  1. Be iWenacted by the general assembly, that in addition to the
money appropriated by the act entitled an act appropriating the pub-
lie revenue for the fisoil year eighteen hundret and sixty-two and
three, passed March twenty-eighth, eighteen hundred and s;xty.
three, there be appropriated the following sutos, to wit:
Generat niem.  To ipay the per diem, mileage and other expenses of the general
bly         assembly, incurred in the September session eighteen hundrcd and
sixty-three, sixty thousand dollrs.
Convicts      'to pay for subsistence and other supplies forThe support of con-
victs and transports in the penitentiary, thirty. tbougand dollars.
Officrs and  To pay officers and privates, for rations, clothing and other allow-
privates.   ances to the public guard. and ordnance sergeant at the, military it-
ititnte, including temporary quarters, thirty thousand dollars.
Ucnt. . s. Gay  To pay Lieutenant E. S. Gay, the amount of a judgtent in his
favor, rendered by the circuit court of the city of Richmond, five
hundred and eighty-four dollars and Porty cents.
Slaves can-   To pay for slaves condemned and executed, or reprieved for sale
domned      and transportation, fifteen thousand dollars.
Claims allowed  To pay claims allowed, or which may be allowed by the auditing'

board       eighteen hundred and sixty-three, to be reported by theim to the
general assembly ,for an appropriation by law, an amount not exceed-
ing fivd thousand dollars.  .
Commencement  2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
