and under the limitations and restrictions imposed by the
said act, and by the act making an additional appropria-
tion to defray the expenses incurred for the defence of the
commonwealth, passed on the eighth day of March eigh-
teen hundred and sixty.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.    Coumoncement
CHAP. 30.-Aa ACT appropriating a sum of money to the Civil
Contingent Fund.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, that the sum Amountappro.

of twenty-five thousand dollars shall be and is hereby set contingentfund.
apart, out of any money in the treasury not otherwise ap-
propriated, as a civil contingent fund, for the ordinary
expenses of the executive department, the said amount
being independent of the ordinary appropriation fur the
fiscal year.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.    Commencement,
