howcver, That if the said William Browning shall be duly convicted
of a violation of any of the penal laws of this commonwealth, tile
privilege hereby granted shall cease and determine: And provided
further, That the legislature shall have the right at any time to re-
peal this act : Provided, That the provisions of this bill shall not ex-
tend beyond the period of two years from the passage of this act.
2. This act shall be in force from and after its passage.    COominenceinnt.
CHAP. 39.9.-An ACT authorizing the payment of a certain sum ofr money to
Sarah C. Iyara, executrix of George flyars deceased.

otherwise appropriated) in favour of Sarah C. Byars, executrix of
George Byars deceased, for the sum of six hundred dollars, the va-
luation of a slave named Jim, condemned by the county court of
Smyth county, and reprieved by the executive for sale and transpor-
tation, which payment is authorized to be made on the certified va-
luation of the court of said county, without requiring the separate va-
luation as prescribed in the first section of the act providing fur the
payment of slaves condemned to death or transportation, passed
March eighteen hundred and forty.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.              Commencement.
Cmtk'. 30.-An ACT concerning James Cook, deputy sheriff of Wood
county.
