CnAP. 74.-An ACT authorizing jailors to receive into their jails slaves taken
under attachment.

Jailors to receive  1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That hereafter it shall
'to Jail slaves  be lavful for jailors to receive into their jails for safekeeping slaves
attachment.  taken under attachment in the same manner that they now receive
therein slaves taken under execution.
Commencement.  2. This act shall he in force from the passing thereof.
CHAP. 75.-An ACT to amend an act, entitled an act concerning certain
chancery proceedings, and for other purposes, passed February 17, 1i23.

CHAPM. 76.-An ACT concerning suits against trustees of religious congre-
gations.
[Passed March 20, 1817.]
Preamble.     Whereas doubts have arisen under the act concerning conveyances
or devises of places of public worship, passed February the third,
eighteen hundred and forty-two, whether or by whom suits in equity
may be instituted to compel tile acting trustees properly to execute
the trust il that act mentionied, or to prevent their improper execu-
tion thereof, and to enforce responsibility for their acts as trustees
