tract of land in the said district, standing in the name of Thomas
G. Humphrey, and containing about one hundred and thirty-seven
acres, to the slim of six dollars per acie, instead of the sum at which
the same was assessed under the last general assessment of lands in
this commonwealth: and the said commissioner for the county of
Loudoun shall charge the tax imposed by law accordingly.
2. This act shall be in force from the passing thereof.     commencement.
CHAP. 159.-An ACT authorizing the removal of certain slaves therein men-
tioned, held for liic, to the state of Maryland.

Hampshire, without incurring the forfeiture prescribed by the forty-
eighth section of the act, entitled  an act reducing into one the se-
veral acts concerning slaves, free negroes and nulattoes, passed the
second day of March, eighteen hundred and nineteen.
CHAP. 160.-An ACT releasing to Thomas Brosinhain the commonwealh's
right to a lot of land therein mentioned.
[Passed January 12, 1813.]
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That all the estate, right, Common-
I w ealihi  right to
title and claim whatsoever which have accrued or may accrue to the certain land re-
commonwealth of Virginia, or to the president and directors of the leased.
Literary fund, in or to a lot of land in the county of Henrico, near
the city of Richmond, containing an eighth of an acre, of which
Thomas Brosinham, an alien, died seized and possessed, shall be and
the same are hereby released to Thomas Brosinham, the father of the
said Thomas Brosinham deceased, his heirs and assigns; saving, Saving.
however, to all bodies politic and corporate, other than the common-
wealth and the president and directors of the Literary fund, any right,
title, interest, claim or estate, which they or any of them might or
would have had in and to the said lot of land, in the same manner
as if this act had not passed.
2. This act shall be in force from the passing thereof.      Commencement.
CHAP. 161.-An ACT releasing to Jeremiah Kyle the commonwealth's right
to certain lands therein mentioned.
[Passed February 3, 18,.]
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That all the estate, right, Common-
title and claim whatever which have accrued, or which may hereafter wealth's right to

accrue to the commonwealth of Virginia, or to the president and di- lnquished.
rectors of the Literary fund, in or to a lot of land in the town of
Christiansburg in the county of Montgomery, designated in the plan
of said town as No. 5, nnd in or to nine acres of land adjoining the
said town, in possession of Jeremiah Kyle, shall be and the same is
hereby released to the said Jeremiah Kyle of the said county of Mont-
gomnery, his heirs and assigns; saving, however, to all persons and Saving.
bodies politic, other than the commonwealth, and the president and
directors of the Literary fund, any right, title, interest or claim which
they or any of them might have had in or to the said lot and land
hereinbefore mentioned, in the same manner as if this act had never
passed.
2. This act shall he in force from the passing thereof.      Commencement.
