lishing the town of Suttonsville, in the county of Nicholas, passed
on the twventy-seventh day of January, in the yer. , eighteen hun-
dred rand twenty-six, on the south side of Elk river, in the then
county of Nicholas, now Braxton, as heretofore laid off into lots,
streets and alleys, shall be and the same is hereby extended, so as
to include twenty acres of land on tile north side of said river, tihe
Name changed to property of James Sutton ; and that the said town of Sattonsville,
Sutton.   including the addition hereby authorized, shall hereafter be called
Trustee.   and known by the name of ,Sutton.  And that Benjamin Boggs,
William Newland, Andrew Sterrett and Lorenzo D. Camden, shall
be and they are hereby appointed additional trustees of said town ;
who, together with the trustees heretofore appointed, or so many
thereof aE may still survive, and who continue to act, and such as
may have been since elected, if any, under the provisions of the
act aforesaid, establishing said town, shall act as such, both for the
old town and the addition hereby authorized, under the powers in
said act containcd, and shall perform the duties hereby prescribed.
Patoraddition.  2. Be it further enacted, That the trustees of said town, or a
majority of them, shall, so soon as the said addition hereby autho-
rized, shall have been laid off into lots, streets and alleys, cause a
plat or drawing of the plan thereof to be made, with such remarks
and explanations thereon or thereunto annexed, in writing, as they
may deem necessary and proper, and shall place the same in the
clerk's office of the county court of Braxton county. The clerk of
said county court shall enter the same of record, and preserve the
original in his office.
Powers oftrus-  3. Be it further enacted, That the trustees of said town, or a
toes.       majority of them, shall, in addition to the authority conferred on
them by the act aforesaid, of the twenty.seventh of January, eigh-
teen hundred and twenty-six, have power to remove or abate nui-
sances, or cause the same to be done, at the expense of those who
occasion them ; to improve and repair the public streets and alleys;
to prevent, and punish 1y reasonable fines, (recoverable with costs
before any justice of the peace for the county of Braxton,) the
practice of firing guns and running horses in said town; to license
'Iod regulate shows and other pablic exhibitions; to appoint all
such officers as may be necessary for conducting the affairs of the
said town, not herein provided for, and to allow them such coin-
pensation as they may deem reasonable; and to do or cause to be
done, all other things necessary and proper for the general good of
said town, within the limits of the powers conferred by this and
the former act aforesaid, or any other act upon the same subject.
Commencment.  4. This act shall be in force from its passage.
CHAP. 32.-An ACT appointing trustees for the town of Wohingt:,, in tle

Proamblo, .    Whereas it is represented to the general assembly that there are
no acting trustees for the town of Washington, in the county of
Rappahannock, the original trustees having died, removed, or dis-
continued their services: For remedy whereof,

Daniel Mason, James B. Jones, Francis S. Browing, Simon r.
