more effectual punishment of certain offences.

1. Be it Enacted by the general assembly, That if any slave, free trape by a slavo,
negro or mulatto, shall ravish or attempt to ravish any white female J,ow punished.

benefit of clergy, any law, custom or usage to the contrary not-

of any citizen residing in the counties of Grayson, Lee, Scott,
Mason and Jackson, whether the said lands be enclosed or not en-
closed, without permission or license of the owner or owners for
that purpose first had and obtained.
2. Be it farther enacted, That every entry of any such horses, rCtry or stock
