Oxly and Hancocj, shall be, and the same i! hereby released to
the said William Fisher, saving, however, to all bodies politic and
corporate, other than the commonwealth, and the president and di-
rectors of the literary lund, any right, title, interest or claim which
they, or any of them, might or would have had in and to the said
tract of land as if this act had never been passed.
2. This act shall be in force from the passage thereof.    comencoment.
CuAP. 271.-An ACT divorcing Ann Edmunds from her husband John W. A.
Eduiunds.
(Pasd March 2 ', 1' 36.)
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the marriage Ann Edinundo di-
solemnized between John W. A. Edmunds and Ann Edmunds his vcrcud.
wilb, formerly Aii, Kirk, shall be, and the same is hereby dissolved,
and the said Ann forever divorced from the said John W. A. Ed-
mounds; and that the power and authority of the said John W. A.
Edmunds over the person and property of the said Ann, shall
henceforth entirely cease and determine.

name of Villiamn II. Dr ewry ; by which latter name alone, he shall
be called and known, as well in courts of justice as without.

I. Be it enacted by the general assemblIj, That Richard Bolling, lklnrdn Iloilii, to
a free man of' colour, of' the county of Cabell, shall be, and he is tmlli, It ,late.
hereby pernittcd to remain as a free man within this common-
wealth, and to reside ill the said county of Cabell: Provided howe.
ver, That if the said Lichard Boiling shall hereafter be convicted
by the verdict of a jury, or the judgment of a court, of any of-
fence against tie laws of this cominonwealth, the privilege hereby
granted shall thencefibth cease.

CHAP. 274.-An ACT allowing l)anie lhigginbotham, a free iman of colour, to
remain in the coinmonwealth a limited tilne.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That for the purpose of nici lliginio-
enabling Daniel, conmmony called Daniel Iligginbotham, a free nan  to .lmin in
of colour, to acquire the means of removing himself and family from time.
the commonwealth, the said Daniel lIigginotham be allowed to re-
main in this commnwealth, and to reside in the town of Lynch-
burg, for the term of four years, unmolested, but no longer ; and if
at r.ny time within that period, the hustings court of the said town
of Lynchburg, slhall see cause to order the said Daniel to depart
