time, they shall be inadequate to file comfortable maintenance of
the said Maria Dixon, in a manner suitablo to her condition, the said
court shall, on the application of the said Maria Dixon, or tiny other
person in ler behalf, from time to time, declarewhat additional sum
or sums ill be sufficient for the purposes aforesaid; ad thereupon,
it shall be lawful to distrain the goods and chattels of the owners
land occupiers of the said dower land, lying and being thereon, for
the sum or sums so declared, in like manner as if the same were
reserved as rent for the said land, upon a demise thereof; and the
same proceedings shall be had in all respects, as in other cases of
distress for rent. The several representatives of the said Turner
Dixon, and the sureties in the bonds hereinmfter mentioned, shall,
moreover, be liable to judgment and execution for their respective
portions of the same, by motion in the said court, upon ten days
notice. The distress and motion above provided for, shall be made
in the name of such person as the court shall appoint as trustee for
that purpose; and the money so directed to be levied, shall be ap.
plied by him, under the direction of the court.
4. B3e it furtlr enacted, That before the shares of the represen- orlindinglond,
tatives of the said Turner Dixon, shall be delivered to them respec-   ire. ~upe
tively, they shall severally enter into bond with sufficient sureties,
payable to the said Maria Dixon, in a penalty equal to double the
value of the slaves, money and effects allotted to them respectively,
conditioned to pay their respective portions of all such sums of mo-
ney as shall be, from time to time, declared necessary for the said
MAaria Dixon, as herein provided, and to restore to her all the slaves,
money and effects received by them respectively, under this act; to-
gether with the increase of' the female slaves, in case the said Maria
Dixon, shall hereafter become of sane mind, or the court shall, as
hereinafter directed, order the same to be restored to her ; which nonds,.here file,
bonds shall be )reserved amongst the records of the said court, and
may be put in suit in the name of the said Maria Dixon, or her coin.

5. Be it furtler enacted, That if the sureties in any of the said Additioaloncurl
bonds shall, hereafter, in the opinion of the sa'id court, be insufficient, ty, wirea require,
the said court shall, on the motion of any person in behalf of the said
Mlaria Dixon, reasonable notice thereof bding given to the other
party, require additional security; and if such requisition be not
complied with, the court shall order the land, slaves, money and ef-
fects received by the party failing to give such security, to be restored
to the said Maria Dixon ; and take such measures as it may deem
proper, to compel the holders thereof to comply with such order.
6. This act shall commence and be in force from and after the Comncsement.
