Pruvso. vided however, That nothing in this act contained shall be so con. strued as to prevent the child of the marriage solemnized between the said John and Rebecca, from inheriting and transmitting inhe- itance, in the same manner as if this act had never passed ; nor shall any thing herein contained be so construed am to permit either the said John or Rebecca to marry during the lifetime of the other. 2. IongIng to the es- Pollard, a lunatic, now confined in the hospital at Williamsburg, Pollard .lunaic shall be, and they are hereby authorised and empowered to sell at authorised. such time, and in such manner, as to themi shall seem best, two slaves, belonging to the estate of said lunatic, the next of kin to the said lunatic assenting to such sale, and pay the proceeds aris- ing from such sale into the public treasury, to be applied, if neces- sary, towards the support and maintenance of the said lunatic ; and if, by reason of his restoration, death, or otherwise, the same should not be so applied, then the said money, or so much thereof as may remain unexpended, to be refunded to the said Thomas G.
