ClAPTER 101.-An act concerning Dennis lolley.

Whereas Dennis lHolley a firee man of color, who has lately Preamble.
obtained his freedom in the county court of Rockingham, being
sick, was unable to leave the State within the time limited by
law;

CHAPTEIR 102.-An act relealng to the thld'en or John, MeCreery stii Mary
Ili wife, the Comnnonwealth'a riglit to a certain lot of land.
(Passed March 4th, I82.)
Whereas it is represented to the General Assembly by John Pivaml,.
McCreery, that George Magee a native .if Ireland, dled i tie
year eighteen hundred and fifteen, in the town of Petersburg,
possessed of some personal estate, and a small lot with a lumber-
house thereon in the said town, devising the said lot and lumber-
house to iis brother Andrew Magee, and directing that, in case
that brother should die intestate, the said house anti lot should
go equally to his brother John lage, anti the children of the
said McCrecy anti Mary his wife: timat the said Andrew Magee
did die intestate ; and the said John Magee, who was an alien, is
also dead, having never been in this country, that the said
McCreery and his children, are the only relatives of the testator
George Mcgee in this country; and strong reasons exist inducing
the belief, that if lie could have anticipated the deaths of both
his -brothers, instead of a moiety of the said house and lot, he
would have devised the whole thereof to the children of the said
McCreery, who were the objects of his particular regard : and the
said John McCreery having petitioned the Legislature to release to
them the Commonwealth's right and interest in the said house
and lot :
1. Be it enacted, That all the right, title and interest, which Reliqusment or
hath accrued or may accrue to the C0ommonwealth, or to the pre- CInatlwealths'
sident and directors of the Literary Fuld, in or to the lot and right.
house aforesaid, or any part thereof, shall be and the same is
hereby released to the children of the said John McCreery and
Mary his wife; saving, however, to all persons, bodies politic and saving.
corporate, other than the Commonwealth, and the president and
directors of the Literary Fund, any right, title, or inteest, which
they might or would have had, in or to the said lot and house, or
any part thereof, if this act had not been passed.
