representatives, for the amount, to be paid out of any money
therein, not otherwise appropriated.

Preambl.      Whereas it is represented to the General Assembly, That
Swan Hanbletn, a man of cc lor, of the county of Lee, and his
wife Sarah, have been eman ipated by their late master John
Skidmore, on account of thei.' general good conduct, and of the
important service rendered the family of his former master by
the said Swan in defending and protecting two of his children from
the savage fury of the Indians, whea attacked by them in the early
settlement of that country; and whereas great tlificulty has arisen
in obtaining a court composed of a majority of the acting magis-
trates of the said county of Lee, as required by the sixty-second
