superior courts of law or chancery to the court of appeals, and
for aci supersedeas or writ of error issuing from thc court of
appeals, two dollars nnd fifty cents; for each writ or declaration
in ejectment, or subpcena, instituting a suit in a county or corpo-,
ration court, one dollar: Provided, the said taxes on law process

licenses hereinafter-mentioned, to h  granted in the manner prd-

S;           sell inerciandize of foreign growth or manufacture, by wholesale
and retail, sixty dollars; by retail only,twenty dollars: P]revided,
that nothing in this Act contained shall be construed so as to
prevent any farmer or planter from selling salt, tea, molasses,
sugar, colliue, spices, iron or steel, to his neighbors, whlen such
articles are purchased as a reltrn load, for his or her produce, 6r
on liceiws to haw. other pro perty, taken to market; on every license to a hawker or
hers or I IRr;t pedlar, of dry goods, forty dollars ; on every license to a pedlhr

exhibitor of .any Yl Jlic show, fifteen dollars, in every city, borou,
or corporation, where the same shall be exhibited ; Oh every
license to any person to make sale of any lottery tickets, of any
lottery, other thau such as ina, be authorized by the laws of thils
Commonwealth, or by the President and Directors of the Literary
Fund, three hundred dollars.

thereof.

arrears of taxes not otherwise appropriated, due prior to the first
day of October last, and all other branches or revenue, and all
other public monies, not otherwise appropriated by law, which
shall come into tile Public Treasurv, prior to the, first day of

faillows :-'l'o thie Vxpcnces of the General Assembly, so much as
the said ex eiewes shlil nccording to existing laws a'moit to. To
the salaries and allowances of the officers of civil government,
including allowance to sheriflf and attornies, for services at circuit
courts, and to marshals for attending the superior courts of
chancery, so much money as the said salaries and allowances shall
by law anount to. To the cx pences ofrepresentation to Congress
