W[ HTUEREAS it appears to the present General Assembly,
s, that shortly after the passage of the law of eighteen
hundred and twelve, entitled  An at, to atnwld lie sc vyral
laws concerning slaves. William Triinble of the County or
Washington brought from Kentucky into this state a negro
boy slave, named Ahahiani, who was his prpterty at the 1tie
or the passa go orthe said act ; tbnat lie applied to a justice of
ithe peace and made oath within the time andaecording to ile
terms prescribetl by tle act aforesaid. but the said just i.o
failed to-give the certificate within the time thereby requird,
although, be promised so to do : in consequence whereot, the
said s1IveV was again removed out of this Coinnionweallt ;
Certain fines, for- 'V; it therefore enacted, That all fines. torrcitues and pen,
iituhre., &c re. aliles incurred by fhe said Williaum Tirnible in consequence of
leased to Willifful ringing said slave into iis Commonwealth shall lie, and the
