An Act conclining George Bitlewr, amasn of colour.

W       HEREAS it is represented to the General Assembly, by Preamble.
V     George Butler, a man of colour of the county of% Waui-
ingtont that, about thirty years ago, he was brought from the state
of Maryland Into this state, and scid as a slave, hut,. being advised
that he was entitled to freedom, he brought suit therefor, ani in
October last recovered his freedom of his then master, Counerly
Finley; thathe is now an old man, and has a family to which he
is much attached ; but his said family being slaves he cannot take
them with him out of this state, and is therefore extremely anxi-
ous to he permitted to spend the remnant of his llif as a free man
within this commonwealth;
t. Be is therefore enacted, That the said George Butler shall  Geo'ge Nutlet
be and is hereby permitted to remain as a free person within this Permitted to M
commonwealth, and to have and enjoy all the rights and privl. in a a free

Ais Act concerning Samuel Pliasete.

T E it cnacted hy the General Assembly, That the sum of
' two hundred and twenty dollars and seventy-five cents
be and the same is hereby allowed Samuel Pleasants for printing
the Journals and three Ihousand two hundred copies of the laws
of the extra session in May rIhteen hundred and thirteen ; and
the auditor of public aceoun! is hereby authorized and required
to issue his warrant in favour or the said Samuel Vieasants for
the pum aforesaid.
2. This act shall commence and be in farce from and after the
passing thereol,
