moith of blarch, one, thousand eight hundred and eight, re.
mUve from this stateinto.the state of North Car.lina, carrying
wit him. a certain number of slaves with an intention of settling
himself, but, was unfortunately prevented by his death',- which
htppened in the month- of Septembei following } that Elizabeth
Sturdi, ant1 vidow,'md administratrix of the said Rbbert Sturdi-
vant, deceased, is by the law passed the twenty fifth day of Ja-
nuary, one thousald eight hundred rnd six, prevented from bring-
ing the said'slave. back to this state, that in consequence, there-
of the whole of the slaves of her intestate's. estate, now in the
county of Dinwiddle, must be sold for a 'division among the
leg1aeei; butprovided she is atithorised 'to introduce the afore.
said slaves into her native state' there will then be a sufliciehcy to
auth'orise a division;
