CHAP. LIL
An act concerning Samuel KAerfo &
(Passed January 4, 1809.)
W     HEREAS a Negro man slave, the property of Samuel Preambloc
Kerfoot, convicted of an attempt to commit the crime of
rape, lost his life in consequence of the operation of the sentence
of the county court of Frederick, passed upon him for the crilme
aforesaid,
1. Be it therefore enacted by the General Asembly, That the Auditw. to
Auditor of public accounts is hereby authorised and required, to a i. t  i

issue a warrant or warrants on the public treasury for three hun. Kerfo t.
dred and sixty six dollars, to Samuel Kerfoot, or his representa-
tive, to indempify him for the loss of his slave as aforesaid, to be
paid out of any monies therein.
2. This act shall conimence and be in force from and after the Cowaxenot
