CHAPTER 98.
AN ACT for the regulation of the salaries of the officers of the Peuitentiary, and for
other purposes.
SEC. 1. Be it enaCted by, the eneral Assmly of the
State of  Tennessee, That the guards at the Penitentiary
be allowed for their services the sum of three hundrel ofgn board
dollars per annum, to be paid in the same manner as here-
tofore, and the Keeper be and he is hereby allowed the
sum of one hundred dollars per annum for the board of
cach guard employed at the prison.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That the inspectors of nslpectors fix
the prison shall fix the number of guards to be employed, numier.
and shall increase the number as the necessity of the
prison may require.
SEC 8. Be it furithe   enadte, That ea0h     convic in
the Penitentiary shall have allowed him or her, one pint of Conle,
good coffee each day.
SEC. 4. Be it further enacted, That the salary of the
Keeper of the Penitentiary shall remain as heretofore fixed Sanr of keeper.
