ascertain the intent of the parties.
Six. 7. Be it further enacted, That Mark. Whitaker,
Thos. B. Yeates, William Thomison, Jeptha Shofner, Greenwood Fe-
and James W. Holman, of the County of Lincoln, are inaloActacey.
hereby created a body politic, under the name and style
of the  Greenwood Female Academy, with all the
rights, powers, and privileges, which are conferred by
the above act.
SEC. 8. Be it fIrthr cnactd, That said GrOoiVOd Location.
Female Academy shall be located in or near the village
of Mulberry, Lincoln County, and said act shall take
effect from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 243.
AN  ACT to amend the charter of the city of Nashville.
SECTION 1. B it enacted by the General Assembly ofjthe
State of Tennessee, That in the assessment of' taxes of
the property of the city of Nashville, it shall be the
duty of the Assessor or Assessors, to call upon the A a8ososment ot
President or the Cashier of' any stock bank, insurance, ock.
or other incorporated company, located in said city, for
a list of the names and amount of stock owned in said
institutioA by persons resident in the city ; and it shall
be the duty -of such President or Cashier, on such de-
mand, to furnish such Assessor or Assessors with such
list.
SEC. 2. BeC it enacted, TIhat the Mayor and Alder-
men of Nashville, shal: have power, on the written
