CHAPTER 127.
AN ACr to amend the Charter of the South Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky
Railroad Company.
SECrON 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the
Statc of Tennessce,.That the charter of the South Car-
olina, Tennessee, and Kentucky Railroad Company, be
amended so as.to allow said Company \he further time
of six years for commencing the building of said road;
and four years from the time of commencing the work
on said road, to complete the same.
SEc. 2. Be it enacted, That the further time of two Fayettoine&
years be extended to the Fayetteville and Tullahoma Compay.
Turnpike Company, to complete said road.
SEc. 3. Be it enacted, That the Commissioners of the
the State Capitol shall audit the account of the Peni-
tentiary, for work done by the convicts for the Capitol, Mtate Capitol
from the first of October last, to the first of March, 1856, toereparostate-
and pay the Keeper of the prison, the amount of the
same when so audited; and thereafter, shall audit the
account monthly, and pay the Keeper one-fourth of the
value, or amount of the same monthly.
SEc. 4. Be it enacted, That the Secretary of State be,
and lie is hereby, required to furnishthe County of John- to furnih book-,
son, with the seventh and ninth volumes of Yerger's
Reports of the Decisions of the Supreme Court, and
eleventh volume of Humphreys, when called on by the
Circuit Court Clerk of said County, or his agent, if it
can be done without re-pr:inting; and also, the first
volume of Yerger, in like manner, to the County of
Cocke, and that the Comptroller issue his warrant for a
sum of money sufficient to pay for the same, if the
Secretary has to -purchase the same, or any part thereof.
Snc. 5. Be it further enacted, That Aaron V. Brown,
Anthony W. Vanleer, Samuel B. Moore, B. L. Goodrich, Hickman Coun-
Belfield S. Carter, and their associates and successors, ty Ion co.
be, and they are hereby, incorporated as a body politic
and corporate, by the name of the  Hickman County
Iron Company, for the purpose of working and manu-
facturing iron ore, and also for exploring for and pur-
chasing.and vending the same; and for such purpose,
may erect all necessary buildings, apparatus, and fixtures,
for carrying on the same; may purchase slaves and
other property; may open and build a turnpike road
from Centreville to the Tennessee River, upon which
they may erect toll-gates, and receive and demand toll
at the same rates as are allowed by law to the Franklin
and Columbia Turnpike Company, and be vested with
the same privileges, rights, &c., vested by law in said
