CHAPTER XLVI.
An Act tonuthorize the issunce of grants in certain cases.
Be it enacted bj the General Assembly of the Stu'te
t of egerans of Tennessee,.That it shall be the duty of the registei
of the Hiwassee district, and he is hereby directed to
issue a grant or grants, as the case may be, to any pur-
chaser or assignee of a purchaser, or to any enterer or as-
signee of an enterer of land in the Iiwassee district, for the
ladd so purchased or entered, upon a duplicate copy of the
entry, or upon the affidavit of such purchaser or assignee of
such purchaser 6r enteror or assignee 6f such enterer, that
the whole of the purchase money or entry money, as the
base may be, requir6d by law has been paid; and that the
bertificate of purchase or of entry has been lost or mislaid
and cannot be found, and that he'she, or they are justly enti-
tied to A grant for the land so purchased or entered.

nies, or other persons having the control of such slave, -wil-
fully to permit or suffer such slave to live to him or herself
