CHAPTER CLXXV.
An Act for the relief of Cupid and Major, slaves, the property ofitobert
I. Moore and David Df. Harding.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ten-
nessee, That the county court of Davidson county, is here-
by authorized and directed to emancipate Major, a slave,
the property of David M. Harding, and Cupid, a slave,
formerly the property of Robert J. Moore: Provided, that
the provisions of the act of 1801, chapter 27, requiring
security to indemnify the county and State, be in all things
complied with.

CHAPTER CLXXVI.
An Act to establish the 16th brigade.
Bedrord coun. SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the
ly constituted a State of TennessEe, That a separate brigade be, and is here-
1rigude.   by, established, which shall be composed of the county of
Bedford, and shall be known as the 16th brigade of Ten-
nessee militia; that it shall be the duty of the major gen-
eral of the second division, to issue a writ of election for
the purpose of e]ecting a brigadier general in said brigade,
which election shall be held agreeable to the laws now in
force on that subject.
Lincoln county SEc. 2. Be it enacted, That the county of Lincoln shall
constituted a constitute the 10th brigade, and that so much of this act
brigde. as establishes the 16th brigade, shall take effect from and
after the passage of this act.
