CHAPTER CL.
An Act for the benefit of Hiram Long, of Overton county.
Be it enacted bu the General Assembly of the State of Ten-
nessee, That Hirarni Long, of Overton county, be author-
ized to retail spirituous liquors, without paying any tax
therefor,

CHAPTER CLI.
An Act to authorize the county court of Washington county, to eian-
cipate the slaves of the estate of John Gates, deceased, late of said
county.
Be it enacted by the General AssembIy of the State of Ten-
nessee, that the county court of Washington county, is
hereby authorized to emancipate two slaves belonging to
the estate of John Gates, deceased, late of said. county,
named Moses and China, agreeably to the proyisions of
the last will and testament of the said John, without re-
quiring the removal of the said negroes out of the State:
Provided, the Executors of said will shall give bond -with
sufficient security to be adjudged by the court, conditioned
for the maintenance of said slaves, and that they shall not
become chargeable upon any of the counties of this State;
and that the executors of the last will and testament of
Isaac Newman, deceased, in the county of M'Minn, shall
be authorized to free the slaves mentioned in his will ac-
cording to the provisions of this act.

CHAPTER CLII.
An Act to authorizd Thomas Suggett to emancipate his slave Ciesar.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ten-
nessee, That it shall and may be lawful for the county
court of Davidson county, nine or a majority of said jus-
tices being present, to emancipate Caesar, the slave of
