CHAPTER CV. ,
An Act for the benefit of William Bishopjailer of Dickson county.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ten-
nessee, That William Bishop,jailerof Dickson county, be,
and he i5 hereby, allowed the sum of sixty-two dollars,
eighty-seven and a half cents, foi the keeping of James
Hales in the common jail of said county, on an indictment
for grand larceny, and that the Treasurer of Middle Ten-
nessee be, and he is hereby, authorized to pay the same out
of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.

CHAPTER CVI.
An Act for the relief of James, a slave.
Be it.enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ten-
nessee, That the county court of Davidson county, be au.
thorized and directed to emancipate James, a slave, late
the property of James Wilcox, deceased: Provided, it ap-
pears to said court, that said James Wilcox, by his will,
authorized or directed said slave to be set free: And provi-
ded also, that bond and security be given according to the
provisions of the act of 1801.

An Act to erect the Manual Labor Academy of Maury county into a
College, to be denominated Jackson College.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Ten- Jackson col-
nessee, That the Manual Labor Academy of Maury county, le a establish.
be, and the same is hereby, declared to be erected into a
College, to be hereafter known by the name of Jackson
College, and that the corporate name of the trustees of the
Manual Labor Academy be no longer used, and that all
the privileges, claims, rights and property of every de-
scription belonging to said Academy, be, and they are
