SEc. 1. Be it enacted by the General Issenbly of the
 f        Siquortsate of Tennessee, That any negro slave who shall
without per- be guilty of selling any spirituous liquors, without
m[sick permission of his master or mistress to any person,
shall be liable to receive lashes not less than five
nor more than ten, for every offence.
Nor to k   Se SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That any slave or slaves

which liquor is claimed and owned by such slave or
