county to lay and collect a tax for the purpose of
f aishing the new court-house, and fir other purpo-
ses.
S1ECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly Justices to
of the State of Tennessee, That the justices of the lay tax.
poace in Greene county, at the first court to be held
afr,' the first day of January next, a majority-ofthe
juStices being present. Fbhall have power to layv a tax
for the purpose of finishing the new court-house, on
lands. free polls, black polls, town lots, and mer-
chants. not exceeding the present county or state tax,.,
which tax, when collected, shall be accounted for and
paid over to the commissioners appointed to superin-
tend the building of the new court-house, under tho
same rules and restrictions as other county or public
T1one(ys are.
S.c. 2. Be it-cuacted, That the coinnis.sioners or crnin:sqk
said town shall have liberty to sell the o1( court-ers to sen.kI
house, aid apply the proceeds of such sale to thecourt-houre.

the said term, give judgment, and order such lands
to be advertised and sold as in other cases.
