open said gate, without consulting the other commis-
sioer.
Terry's road  SEC. s. Be it enacted, That the turnpike road cut
under same out by Samuel Terry across Walden's ridge, shall be
*r3ulations. under the same rules and regulations, and the com-
naissioners thereof shall be subject to the same duties
as Hoodenpyle's and Rainey's road, and the commis-
sioners thereof, are made subicet to by the first and
second sections of this act, any law or custom to the
contrary notwithstanding.

AN ACT to repeal an act, entitled  An act for the relief of Lewis
King, a free man of colour.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of the State of Tennessee, That the above-recited act
js hereby repealed.

CHAPTER CCLXXXVII.
AN ACT to authorize Hercules Jones and Jesse Grason to open
a Turnpike Road.
May open  SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
turnpike  of the State of Tennessee, That Hercules Jones and
Oad.     Jesse Grason be, and they are hereby authorized to
cut out and open a turnpike road, begiining at the
foot of said mountain, near the uppier end of Marion
county, running across said mountain the nearest and
best way to Captain lBurriss', in Franklin county.
To what pe.  SeC. 2. Be it enacted, That the said Hercules Jones
naltiesliable. and Jesse Grason shall be under the same rules, go-
veried by the same regulations, and subject to the
same penalties,. that Peter Hoodenpyle and William
Rainey, proprietors of the road leading from the foot
of the mountain in Warren county, are under, and
