Ohap. 11. AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 85TH, CHAPTER 84TH, OF RETPRD
SCODE.                -
.Buying ait of  Be it enacted by the General As8embly of-the State of
out written  North-Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of
it.     the same, That no person shall at any time buy or receive
the article of salt from any slave without a written permis-
sion for that purpose from the person tho having the man-
agement of such slave, specifying tho article iud the pro-
bable amount and quantity thereof; and any pcrsoni so
offonding shall be doemed to be guilty of a misdomeanor,
and shall, on conviction thereof, he punished in the manner
prescribed in section cighty-nino, chapter thirty-four of the
Revised Code. [Ratified the 8th day of December, 1863.]
