SEc. 2. Be it further enacted, That this act shall be in
force from and after its ratification. [Ratifed the 21st
day of September, 1861.
AN ACT TO APPOINT DRILL MASTERS FOR THE SEVERAL COUNTIES C/Lap. 29.
IN THIS STATE.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the County courts
State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the drill masters.

this State, may at their discretion, appoint one or more
drill masters, whose duty it shall be to drill the officers
of the militia companies in their several counties, at
least once in every two weeks, at such times and places as
may suit the convenience of the said officers, and it shall
also be the duty of said drill masters to drill the militia
companies in each county whenever said companies may
be ordered out for muster.     [Batified the 21st day of
September, 1861.
AN ACT TO PREVENT TITE COLLECTION OF TAXES FOR COMMON Chap. 31.
SCHOOL PURPOSES DURING THE WAR.
Be it enacted by the General Asembly of the State ofnoveals clause

of the same, That the thirty-second section of the Sixty- school tax.
